As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, your responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
- Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve issues within vehicle systems.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and improve vehicle reliability.
- Maintain thorough records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Promptly and effectively handle both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
- Promote workplace safety by following established safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective gear (PPE).
Essential requirements for these roles include:
- A mechanical trade certification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is required.
- Previous experience with Vac Trucks is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic, specializing in the maintenance and upkeep of heavy diesel vehicles; familiarity with Volvo vehicles is advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines with exceptional time management skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- Possession of a White Card and an unrestricted HR license is highly desirable.
- Successful completion of pre-employment medical examinations and obtaining a national Police clearance is necessary.
