Momentum Consulting is currently partnering with a well-established, Australian-owned business within the waste and recycling sector to recruit a Trades Assistant to join their growing Maintenance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded and looking to gain hands-on experience working with heavy plant and industrial equipment.

About the role
- Assist tradespeople with mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Support preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Respond to breakdowns and equipment faults
- General workshop duties (cleaning, organising tools and equipment)
- Carry out basic mechanical tasks under supervision
- Assist with loading/unloading parts and materials
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Adhere to WHS and site safety requirements
To be successful, you will possess the following:
- Mechanically minded with a genuine interest in heavy equipment
- Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor environments
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused
- Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
Highly regarded:
- Experience in waste, recycling, manufacturing, construction or similar industries
- Forklift Licence (LF)
- Working at Heights or EWP ticket
