Position: Area Sales Manager
Reports To: State Sales Manager - VIC/TAS
Role Purpose and Contribution:
We are seeking a Area Sales Manager to join our client's team in VIC. In this role, you will be responsible for meeting gross and net sales targets within a designated geographic area. Your primary focus will be on managing relationships with wholesalers, key customers, multi-site operators, central warehouse customers, and vending operators. You will ensure the availability of our core range in key retailers, execute channel plans and promotional programs, manage trade spend, and build distribution of our products throughout the geography.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure the availability of the core range/planogram in key retailers within the defined geography
- Execute channel plans and promotional programs within independent banners to meet AOP targets
- Effectively manage trade spend within wholesalers, including managing inventory levels and product range to minimize stales
- Manage journey plans to ensure key retailers are visited at the appropriate frequency
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Manage key customers or customer groups to deliver profitable outcomes
- Ensure steps of the sales call are conducted and High-Performance Selling principles are applied
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time
Experience, Qualifications & Competency Requirements:
- At least 2 years' experience in field sales responsible for a defined territory or customer group
- Basic experience in account management
- Prior exposure to working with independent retailers, impulse outlets, or wholesalers preferred
- Prior experience with inventory management
- Exposure to trade spend management
- Prior experience delivering group presentations at all levels
- Previous experience working within the FMCG sector highly advantageous
