About the Role
As a Drainage Officer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Investigate, respond, and resolve customer requests regarding drainage issues
- To clean and unblock pits and drains including operation of mechanical boring and flushing equipment
- Maintain and secure all plant and equipment assigned to the area
- Prepare estimates of costs for cleansing activities as required
- Operate street sweeper and pit truck as required
- Perform tasks undertaken by the Cleansing Unit as required
- Be available for the After-hours duty officer roster and any emergency works
- Pulling wheeled objects up to 55 kg
To Be Successful, You Will Possess the Following:
- Demonstrated experience in drainage or similar roles
- Comfortable working in confined spaces that may be dusty and poorly lit
- Experience in the public sector or municipal services (desired)
- Physically fit, able to lift up to 30 kg
- Valid Heavy Rigid vehicle license
- Light Hydraulic Crane ticket
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
- PPE
- Must successfully pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- Knowledge of traffic control requirements as to placement of warning signs, barriers and lights.
