As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, your responsibilities are to:
- Conduct regular maintenance duties, inspections, and repairs on our fleet of heavy diesel vehicles.
- Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint and address issues within vehicle systems.
- Execute preventive maintenance plans to mitigate breakdowns and enhance vehicle dependability.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of all maintenance and repair tasks.
- Efficiently complete scheduled and ad hoc maintenance assignments.
- Champion workplace safety by adhering to established safety procedures and utilising proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Essential requirements for these roles include:
- A mechanical trade certification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is a prerequisite.
- Prior experience with Vac Trucks is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic, focusing on servicing and upkeeping heavy diesel vehicles; familiarity with Volvo vehicles is particularly beneficial.
- Proficient troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Capable of adhering to timelines with excellent time management capabilities.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
- Possession of a White Card and an unrestricted HR license is highly valued.
- Ability to complete pre-employment medical assessments and obtain a National Police clearance.
