This is an opportunity for a junior lawyer to work under the guidance of practitioners widely regarded for delivering high-quality work in premier litigation matters.

You will have autonomy and client contact appropriate to your level of experience and ability, and exposure to a variety of matters.

The role

Gajic Lawyers is currently seeking a driven and experienced Junior Solicitor (Public Liability) to join our Parramatta team on a full-time basis.

Work from Home is a possibility after 6 months of employment.

The responsibilities

  1. Instigate and have the conduct of legal proceedings.
  2. Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of legal matters.
  3. Preparation and management of matters associated with personal injury. This will include but is not limited to: draft legal documents and correspondence, file management, contact with clients, court hearings, conferences and teleconferences & views.
  4. Brief Counsel as appropriate.
  5. Taking initial client enquiries
  6. Settlement monies
  7. Booking medical appointments
  8. Arranging counsel conferences
  9. Barrister calls
  10. Conference solicitor
  11. Informal settlement conferences.
  12. Assist with preparation for district court hearings
  13. Undertake other administrative work as required
  14. Liaison with other staff / principal.
  15. Business development support: new client generation and follow up.
  16. Interpreting services (dependent on capabilities).

These are the skills you'll need to succeed:

  • 1/2 years' experience working with public liability matters
  • Client service-oriented, strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and achieve targets
  • Proactive, self-starter and displays initiative
  • Comfortable working under pressure when needed
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Experience working with public liability matters is required
