Momentum Consulting are working with a well-established importer and distributor of food products. Due to significant growth, they are looking for a Commercial Analyst.
About the role
Working at the office in Bankstown, you will be reporting to CFO and working closely with the Finance, sales, and marketing team. You will be responsible for the following:
- Support sales and marketing in developing, maintaining and effective pricing strategies and to optimise profitability.
- Ensure all price changes are updated promptly and accurately and communicate through all channels timely and effectively.
- Supporting sales and marketing in reviewing and verifying cost structure and margin calculation prior to any products submission to customers
- Reviewing the approval protocol for promotional spend and product submission and highlight any non-conformity and deviation.
- Monitoring and reviewing the promotional spend against budget allocated and perform detailed analysis on the performance and effectiveness of the promotional activities.
- Perform in depth analysis on products margin, highlight abnormality and initiate communication with different stake holder to rectify any errors.
- Build and actively manage internal relationships with all stakeholders such as Sales Managers, Marketing team and others.
- Conduct inventory audit and highlight any potential overstock situation and initiate action with relevant stakeholder to mitigate the exposures.

Skills and experience
To be successful for this role you will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English AND Mandarin or Cantonese (ESSENTIAL)
- Previous extensive success in a highly commercial role in retail, FMCG (or similar) industry
- Exposure to Marketing is highly regarded.
- Previous track record in recommending and implementing pricing strategy with a focus on maximising revenue and profitability.
- University Degree qualified in a relevant field (commerce, analytics, maths, accounting, marketing, buying, etc.)
- Highly analytical and ready to delve into data.
- Excellent commercial and business acumen to make key commercially savvy decisions.
- Well verse in Microsoft 365 and ability to work with BI reporting will be an advantage.
