About the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable and growing organisation in the distribution and logistics sector, based in Western Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Credit Officer to join a dynamic finance team within a well-established business that values professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, assessing credit risk, and maintaining positive relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop credit control procedures to support effective debt recovery.
• Regularly engage with customers via phone, email, and written communication to ensure timely payment of outstanding accounts.
• Process, allocate, and reconcile payments from clients.
• Negotiate payment plans and alternative solutions with customers where necessary.
• Assess credit applications using credit scoring, reference checks, and financial analysis.
• Monitor credit risk and recommend actions based on industry trends and internal analysis.
• Release or hold orders based on credit assessments.
• Prepare and present reports on debt status, risk exposure, and collection outcomes.
• Respond to customer queries and interpret credit policy as required.
• Support the Accounts Receivable Manager in maintaining healthy cash flow and minimising aged debt.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, credit terms, and OH&S standards.

About You

Essential:

• Proven experience in a Credit Officer / Accounts Receivable or similar role.
• Solid understanding of credit control and debt recovery procedures.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance.
• Demonstrated success in reducing aged debt and managing customer accounts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience using Oracle-based systems (or similar ERP platforms).
• Good communication skills - both verbal and written
• MUST have full Australian working rights

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
