About the role
The Spare Parts Product Planner is responsible for planning and managing the ongoing supply of spare parts to ensure sufficient parts inventory to meet Productions ongoing warranty and spare parts obligations whilst maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction in line with customer Service Level Agreements.
Main Duties include but not limited to
- Review all data and determine what spare parts stock needs to be purchased
- Analyse lead time, current stock on hand, stock in transit, stock on order, and repairable stock; include this in the stock purchasing plan to meet upcoming and future warranty and non-warranty obligations.
- Manage the buying and selling forecasts for non-propriety parts and critical components; purchase spare parts stock per the usage requirements.
- Conduct a gap analysis to identify spare parts that will run into shortage.
- Manage and work with the teams to provide timely supply solutions for customer backorders
- Manage the availability of spare parts
- Conduct regular inventory reviews to identify excess and obsolete inventory
- Conduct regular purchase budget reviews to ensure purchasing spend is in line with the purchase budgets and overall inventory targets
- Ensure all data is correct and up to date in the relevant systems and in line with the prescribed business practices.
To be successful, you will possess the following:
- At least 3+ years in a similar role within a service-oriented environment
- Strong knowledge of Supply chain principles, Purchasing, Inventory Planning, Spare Part Warehouse and business concepts and principles
- Strong understanding of IT products and their applications in business
- Good knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
- Strong analytical skills and an understanding of business analytics methods
- Strong analytical and financial management skills
- Exceptional communication skills; must be able to connect, collaborate and engage with all stakeholders
- Sound judgement and decision-making ability to manage multiple priorities
- Able to identify problems and provide solutions for the same
- Task-focused, with great attention to detail and time management skills
