About the Opportunity
We are looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters with solid experience working on industrial gearbox systems. Successful candidates will be involved in installation, maintenance, refurbishment, and breakdown support within demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, and commission industrial gearboxes
- Strip, assess, rebuild, and recondition gearbox units
- Fault-find and carry out mechanical repairs
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, and gear sets
- Perform laser alignment and precision measurement checks
- Interpret technical drawings and OEM manuals
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance
- Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience Required
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
- Proven experience working with helical, bevel, worm, and planetary gearboxes
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability
- Experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, dial indicators, etc.)
- Knowledge of lubrication systems and rotating equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
Experience With the Following Is Advantageous
- Industrial gearboxes such as SEW-Eurodrive, Flender, Bonfiglioli, and David Brown Santasalo
- Rotating equipment including pumps, motors, conveyors, and crushers
- Shutdowns, breakdown response, and workshop rebuilds
