Our Client are looking for dependable and motivated Trades Assistants / General Hands to complete maintenance work within the rail industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a hands-on background who are seeking consistent work, Monday to Friday, on a high-profile infrastructure projects.
This is a project role that will run for 18 - 24 months starting this month.

About the role
As a Trade Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assist with general mechanical and equipment maintenance on train carriages
- Remove and refit covers, seats, and fittings using hand tools
- Support technicians and tradespeople with installation tasks
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Attend toolbox talks, inductions, and follow all site safety protocols
Hours:
- Monday to Friday, approx. 8-hour days
- Start time: 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM
To be successful, you will possess the following:
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card - desirable but not essential
- Driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience in a general hand, trade assistant, or labouring role
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment
